“Life is a series of adjustments.” That’s something my dad always told me growing up, and his dad before him. It's become the foundation for the music I create. These songs are about change, resilience, and learning how to keep moving forward through the moments that shape us.
Colin Billings is a modern hard-rock artist blending heavy guitars and anthemic choruses with the soulful melodies, vocal harmonies, and blues-rooted character of American roots music.
Colin Billings is a rock artist figuring it out one song at a time.
His music sits somewhere between modern hard rock, blues, and melodic rock, built around heavy guitars, soulful melodies, and choruses meant to stick. There’s a little bit of old-school rock in the songwriting, a little blues in the way the melodies move, and a modern edge in the way the songs hit. The goal is pretty simple: write songs that mean something and make them loud.
Colin started this project without a record deal, a big team, or a clear path laid out in front of him. Just a growing collection of songs and the belief that they were worth putting out into the world. The music is rooted in the things that have shaped him: trying to figure out who you are, getting knocked around a little, learning from it, and continuing forward anyway.
That mindset comes from something his grandfather used to say: “Life is a series of adjustments.” It’s a simple idea, but it has stuck with Colin. Things change. Plans don't always work. Sometimes you have to change with them. The VII emblem that represents the Colin Billings project is a reflection of that philosophy and the idea of continuing to move forward.
With new music being written, recorded, and released independently, Colin is still at the beginning of the road. There’s no interest in pretending otherwise. The goal is to build something honest, one song, one show, and one listener at a time.
Heavy guitars. Big melodies. Songs about figuring life out along the way.
